Hello!

I am Ms. Nakita Manigault, and this is my 5th year teaching at CPA. I have spent my first 4 years here teaching 4th grade reading, and this is my first year teaching 5th grade.

This year, we have many things to accomplish and with partnerships with students, parents and myself, we will meet all goals and be prepared for 6th grade!

  • WE WILL BE WORKING ON BIOGRAPHIES, AUTOBIOGRAPHIES AND MEMOIRS, WHICH FALLS UNDER NONFICTION TEXTS. PLEASE ENCOURAGE STUDENTS TO READ TEXTS WITHIN THIS GENRE.
  • Text Features quiz coming up on Friday. Please review notes in reading journals. 
  • Continue reviewing current Greek and Latin Roots. This week we're working on Cycl-, Circum-, Cracy-, and Crat.
